Golden Globes 2017: Best and Worst Dressed

The 74th Golden Globe Awards were held on Sunday (January 8, 2017) at The Beverly Hilton. Jimmy Fallon hosted the ceremony which was characterized by political jabs and statements aimed at Donald Trump. What I liked the most about this year’s red carpet appearances is that there weren’t too many trashy outfits and “look at me, I’m not wearing underwear” dresses. But, it doesn’t mean everyone’s fashion choices were on point.

The best dressed list starts with Blake Lively and let’s face it – she could wear a garbage bag and still be the most elegant woman in the room. Her dress was brilliant! Reese Witherspoon wore an elegant gown just like Susan Kelechi Watson, Emma Stone, Amy Adams, and Kerry Washington. Sophisticated and classy dresses don’t have to feature one color only, Olivia Culpo showed that multiple colors and different patterns can do the trick too. Natalie Portman channeled Jackie in a stylish gown showing all those pregnant celebrities how to dress in style. Gillian Anderson wore a breathtaking white dress while Lily Collins got to wear the ultimate princess gown.

Olivia Culpo

The worst dressed list starts with Nicole Kidman and Riley KeoughFelicity Jones didn’t live up to the expectations of, pretty much, entire fashion world while Chrissy Teigen showed, once again, she desperately needs to change her stylist. Carrie Underwood usually owns every red carpet, but it wasn’t the case last night. Although Sophie Turner is a gorgeous girl her outfit choice last night was awful. On the other hand, Jessica Biel wore a “there’s too much going on” dress that, just like in Sophie Turner’s case, didn’t do justice to their natural good looks. Heidi Klum is one of those beautiful women with horrible sense of fashion. The list also features Drew Barrymore whose dress was pretty, but it didn’t suit her, something was “off” and Zoe Saldana

Before best/worst dressed galleries, I can’t help but mention Brad Pitt who was unbelievably handsome and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who’s, basically, a real-life Prince Charming.
