Sunglasses for Summer 2016
Sunglasses are a great fashion accessory. They make us look stylish and they’re inevitable part of summer outfits. However, they have a much bigger role than just making us look great – they protect our eyes and surrounding skin at the same time.
Some of the sun’s effects on your eyes include:
- Macular degeneration
- Ptergyum (a tissue growth over the white part of the surface of your eye that can alter the curve of the eyeball thus causing astigmatism).
That’s not all; skin around your eyes is sensitive and lacks sebaceous glands. That’s why the first signs of aging, tiny fine lines and wrinkles, appear around your eyes. Sun’s UV rays break down collagen production and impair elasticity thus accelerating the aging process.
Therefore, we can conclude sunglasses have dual purpose – to improve our styling and protect our eyes.
Personally; I like buying sunglasses and don’t always go for the classic ones. It’s nice when they have different colors or shapes and patterns. For example, a few weeks ago I came across these Hello Kitty glasses (although I’m not Hello Kitty enthusiast) and bought them immediately. (Picture above!)
I did some research about sunglasses trends for this summer. The gallery below contains the most popular shapes and styles.
Basically, this summer is all about cat-eye and other types of sunglasses with unusual shapes, patterns and colors. Naturally, you don’t really have to pay hundreds of dollars for these, I’m sure there are plenty of cheaper alternatives. Which ones did you like?
